Baby was born on Friday 19th February weighing 8lb 11oz. She was born naturally after my surges beginning Thursday morning. They continued to come every 7 minutes up until about 5pm and throughout this time I made cakes, did the relaxation tape and plodded on. At 9.30pm we went to hospital, the surges now much stronger and frequent.

At first they didn’t think I was in labour as I was talking and being very rational. They were very keen to send me home with a sleeping tablet, but after I persuaded them to examine me, they realised I was 5cm dilated and not returning home tonight!
